Board Foot Calculator

Quickly figure out how many board feet of our exotic hardwood you will need for your unique project. We sell many of our products in board feet, so if you need to know how much to order, use this calculator to get just the right amount.

You simply enter the the thickness, length, width of your project piece surface, and how many surfaces you need, to easily determine the total number of board feet.

For example, if you want a tabletop that is 36 inches wide by 60 inches long by 1 inch thick, then you put in 1, 36, 60; and then 1 for the number of surfaces. That gives you 15 board feet.

If you wanted to build a small square open lid box that is 3 feet tall by 3 feet deep and has 1/2 inch thick sides, then you would put in .5, 36, 36; and then 5 for the number of surfaces and you would get 22.5 board feet.

Please be aware that Woods and Slabs sells all products by whole board feet, so you will want to round to the next board foot when purchasing.

Board Foot Formula:

Board Footage = [(Thickness)*(Width)*(Length)/144]*(Number of Boards)
